West Bengal Loudspeaker Row Intensifies After Crackdown At 5,200 Places Of Worship

Political tensions have intensified in West Bengal over a crackdown on loudspeakers at around 5,200 places of worship. NCP MPs Abu Taher Khan and Khalilur Rahman said they met Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and urged him to stop the action against loudspeakers at mosques, alleging it could affect the Azan. The Chief Minister has said the move follows a High Court directive aimed at curbing noise pollution. Meanwhile, rebel MLAs led by Ritabrata Banerjee have threatened to approach the High Court if the order is not withdrawn.
