According to witnesses and a new video that emerged on Monday from last week's attack in Benghazi, it appears that local Libyans tried to rescue US ambassador Christopher Stevens from a room filled with smoke at the US mission. Stevens was found unconscious after last week's attack by a mob protesting against an anti-Islam film. The video, which appeared on the internet and a copy of which was obtained in Benghazi, confirms reports that suggested that the US envoy died of asphyxiation after the building caught fire.
