US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor has said that India-US relations remain on "strong footing", dismissing suggestions that ties between the two countries are under strain. Speaking at an event, Gor highlighted the depth of cooperation between India and the United States across trade, defence and people-to-people exchanges. He pointed to the bilateral trade target of $500 billion and noted that India exports more to the United States than to any other country. Gor also said that India and the US conduct more defence exercises together than India does with any other partner nation. The US envoy further revealed that the American Embassy in New Delhi had helped secure $20.5 billion in investments into the United States this year, claiming that the figure placed the New Delhi mission at the top among US embassies worldwide.
