A fresh political row has erupted over Vande Mataram after the national song was reportedly stopped after two stanzas at a Congress event in Goa attended by party president Mallikarjun Kharge. BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused Congress of repeatedly disrespecting patriotic symbols and cited earlier remarks by Congress MP Imran Masood.
