US Trade Deal With India | MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal On PM Modi-Trump Phone Call

The Prime Minister held a telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump, following which he thanked the US leader for the reduction in reciprocal tariffs, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said. He noted that made-in-India products will now be exported to the United States at a reduced tariff of 18%. The trade agreement is expected to significantly boost Indian exports, support labour-intensive industries, generate new jobs, and drive growth and prosperity. The US side has clarified that the final tariff rate stands at 18%.
