The United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) announced that its forces struck three suspected narco-trafficking vessels in the Caribbean Sea and Eastern Pacific on Monday. Footage released by the command shows boats being hit in international waters, with smoke rising from the targeted vessels. The exact date and location of the released video could not be independently verified. According to SOUTHCOM, intelligence indicated the vessels were operating along known drug-trafficking routes. The command said 11 alleged narco-traffickers were killed in the strikes — eight in the Eastern Pacific and three in the Caribbean. The operations mark the 40th, 41st and 42nd kinetic strikes under Operation Southern Spear, launched in September 2025. The campaign has reportedly resulted in at least 145 fatalities so far.
