US Navy News | USS Nimitz, US Navy Aircraft Carrier Visits Panama Waters For First Time In 50 years
The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz has anchored in the Gulf of Panama as part of a multinational maritime exercise "Southern Seas 2026.” The guided-missile destroyer USS Gridley, also docked at the Amador port in Panama City, will also take part in the exercise. The deployment marks the first visit of a U.S. aircraft carrier to Panama in more than 50 years.
