Uranium mines in Meghalaya untapped

India's nuclear reactors are running at half their capacity, all because there is an acute shortage of nuclear fuel uranium. Even the military programme is likely to be affected. Even though the nuclear deal has been inked, till date not a single gram of uranium has since been imported. However, not withstanding the promise of foreign supplies, there is an abundant source of uranium in Meghalaya.
