UNESCO Declares 3 Karnataka Temples As World Heritage Site

Among the 92 temples built by the Hoysalas in Karnataka, three have been declared as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Hoysaleshwar temple in Halebid and Chennakeshava temple in Belur in Hassan district are visited in large numbers by tourists. The temples are said to have been built around 900 years ago. King Vishnuvardhana built the Hoysaleshwar temple in Halebid.
