According to the National Family Health Survey-5 (NFHS) phase-1 data, a drastic rise in the percentage of overweight children under five years of age was seen in 20 of the 22 states surveyed during 2019-20. The survey was conducted before the COVID-19 pandemic. Nutrition and Ayurvedic Specialist Tapasya Mundhra believes that a huge rise in childhood obesity due to the COVID-19 is yet to be seen. Hence, it's essential for parents to look after the health of their children.
