Trump News | Venezuela Frees Imprisoned Opposition Figures, Trump Claims Release Followed US Request

Venezuela has released several high-profile opposition figures, activists and journalists — including both citizens and foreign nationals in what the interim government described as a move to “seek peace” just days after former President Nicolás Maduro was captured by US forces on federal drug-trafficking charges. US President Donald Trump, who has been pressing Maduro’s allies to align with his vision for the country’s future, said the releases came at Washington’s request and praised Acting President Delcy Rodríguez for her cooperation.
