Tourists Make A Beeline For Sikkim's Nathu La Pass

The Nathu La Pass, located at a height of 14450 feet in Sikkim on the international boundary with China, is seeing a massive influx of tourists. Nathu La Pass is one of Sikkim's major tourist attractions has also seen clashes between China and India alongside the border in 1967. The Nathu La pass was a part of the trade routes of the British empire and in 2006 it reopened as a trade route between India and China. Currently it is among the most sought-after destinations for tourists in Sikkim who want to experience snow. With tensions along the western border and Kashmir as a destination taking a hit, Nathu La Pass and locations in North Sikkim are expected to more tourist footfalls this season. Only a few meters apart from the Chinese Army post, tourists flock the area to get a glimpse of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. Located on the Old Silk Route, Nathu La Pass is famous for its picturesque beauty and beautiful environment. NDTV visited Nathu La Pass this week and witnessed a huge crowd of tourists.
