Tamil Nadu Ready to Face US Tariffs, Centre Must Resolve Issue Soon: TRB Rajaa

Industries Minister TRB Rajaa says Tamil Nadu is well-prepared to handle the impact of potential US tariffs, citing the state's strong manufacturing base and good governance. Referring to the Economic Survey, he highlights that Tamil Nadu contributes 15% of India's manufacturing output and leads the country in high-end job creation. Rajaa says Chief Minister MK Stalin anticipated the tariff challenge early and proactively explored alternative export markets through visits to the US, UK, and Germany, resulting in multiple MoUs. While welcoming steps like the India-EU FTA, he stresses that the US remains a crucial export market and urges the Centre to resolve the tariff issue with Washington at the earliest.
