In a candid conversation with NDTV's VeeraRaghav, ‘Rocket’ Raja, also known as Arumuga Pandian, spoke about caste, politics, and regional identity ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections. Defending his remarks, he said caste and bravery are part of their social fabric and described violence as a result of the fight for self-respect, while adding that he does not support it. He also alleged that Dravidian parties continue to practise caste-based politics and said such trends must change before communities move away from identity-driven mobilisation. Emphasising regional pride, he claimed strong grassroots support and asserted that he has the strength to defeat actor-politician Vijay if he contests from his region.
