Temple Theft Row: Is the Trust's Credibility Still Intact? S Gurumurthy Speaks

The controversy surrounding the Ram Mandir Trust has taken a fresh turn. Less than 24 hours after the Trust accepted the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, Champat Rai has announced a 'maun vrat' (vow of silence) until the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submits its final report, expected by July 22.

The Trust has defended Champat Rai, praising his conduct even as the Opposition intensifies its attack. The Congress has demanded accountability at the highest levels, while the Samajwadi Party has called for an investigation into every trustee.

Are the resignations enough to restore public confidence? Or does the controversy call for a complete overhaul of the Trust?

S Gurumurthy, Editor of Thuglak, joins NDTV to discuss the growing political and public debate over accountability, transparency and the future of the Ram Mandir Trust.
