As Sonam Wangchuk's indefinite hunger strike entered its 19th day, political support for the activist continued to grow, with Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav meeting him in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court intervened after hearing a petition warning that Wangchuk's health could become critical within the next 48 hours. The court directed the government to ensure his health and safety, ordered that a government doctor regularly monitor his condition, and said that any medical intervention necessary to save his life should be provided.
