First-time Member of Parliament Madhavi is one of the poorest MPs. She has Rs 23,000 in her bank account, Rs 1.4 lakh as assets and her campaign was crowdfunded. Her constituency, Araku, in Andhra Pradesh is one of the most underdeveloped areas hit by vector-borne diseases. She lost her own father to malaria and wants to end this death cycle in the area.
