Kashmir's Ikhwanis or surrendered militants are perhaps the most damned people in the Valley. Rehabilitated into Kashmir's Special Task Force, the Ikhwanis claim pride and honour for helping strike at the heart of militancy with their inside knowledge of camps and groups. However, they are often viewed with fear and suspicion by the local Kashmiris who accuse the Ikhwanis of using their special status to blackmail them for money.
