Samajwadi Party's Neeraj Shekhar resigned as a Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP, only to join the BJP today. He may lose his Rajya Sabha membership but his resignation reduces the strength of the house and gives an advantage to the BJP. Bit by bit, the NDA is inching towards a majority in Rajya Sabha, something elusive in PM Modi's first term.
