The national election is around the corner and a lot of fake information is being circulated. In this edition of India vs Fake news, we fact-check two claims; one against Congress lawmaker Shashi Tharoor who was accused of defaming Nair women through his fictional work, and the second against BJP's Hema Malini, whose image was shared online with the claim that she arrived in a helicopter right before she was to meet farmers in a wheat field. We also take a look at WhatsApp's new 'checkpoint tipline', and whether or not it is really a helpful tool in the fight against fake news.
