Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan congratulated party workers, including former Congress workers who crossed over with Jyotiraditya Scindia in March, on bagging majority of the 28 seats in the Madhya Pradesh bypolls. "Thanks to their unending hard work, that of the entire BJP, we have won... we accept this win with humility," he said. The November 3 bypolls were seen as a battle of prestige for Mr Scindia as most seats were in his pocket borough, and fell vacant when he walked out of the Kamal Nath government. Mr Chouhan said their victory was also people's seal of approval for his government's development work and disapproval for Congress' distasteful campaigning.
