Serbia Election Results | Vucic Concedes Defeat, Crowds Celebrate Election Victory In Belgrade

Crowds gathered Sunday in the city center, waving flags and celebrating what they see as an election victory in Serbia. Crowds flooded the streets of the capital Belgrade and other Serbian cities in an outburst of euphoric celebration. Serbians sang anti-establishment songs, held hands and danced as the long-serving populist leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, conceded defeat in an election against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government. A student Igor Pantelic rejoiced the victory and said, "All the protests, all the nights we've stayed in our universities, all the walks we've had from one city to another, all the walks we've had from one city to another. This is absolutely amazing and all the hard work and all the love in the country paid off.”
