Sensex Today: Sensex Jumps 1,700 Points In Early Trade As Trump Says Will Leave Iran Soon

Indian stock markets started the new financial quarter on a positive note. At the open, Sensex jumped 1,600 points, while the Nifty was up 500. Both the indices extended gains in early trade. The breather comes after a sharp crash in March amid the Iran war.

Overnight on Wall Street, the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 2.5 per cent and 2.9 per cent, respectively, while the Nasdaq Composite gained 3.8 per cent. The surge came after US President Donald Trump said that the US will leave Iran within "two-to-three weeks".
