Punjab Bandh: Shutdown Over Bandi Sikh Release Demand Affects Markets, Schools & Transport

Large parts of Punjab witnessed a shutdown in support of the demand for the release of Bandi Sikhs, with the bandh receiving support from Qaumi Insaaf Morcha and several farmer organisations. The impact was visible across multiple districts as markets, commercial establishments and educational institutions remained closed in many areas. Major business centres reported reduced activity, while roads and public spaces wore a deserted look. Public transport services were affected in several parts of the state, creating difficulties for daily commuters. Bus services remained suspended in many areas and private vehicle movement was also significantly lower than usual.
