Red Alert In 5 Districts Of Tamil Nadu Amid Heavy Rainfall

Extremely heavy rainfall has been recorded in Thoothukudi district in Tamil Nadu. Some parts in the state received up to 30 cm rain while several areas are inundated, including the temple town of Tiruchendur. A red alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for five districts of Tamil Nadu and schools and colleges have been closed in 22 districts after several areas were flooded. NDTV speaks to Tamil Nadu relief commissioner K Phanindra Reddy for more details.
