Punjab Police ASI Suspended After CCTV Video Allegedly Shows Him Planting Heroin Under Mattress
A major controversy has erupted in Punjab after a police officer was caught on CCTV allegedly planting narcotics inside the residence of a Shiv Sena leader in Khanna to frame him. The footage shows Assistant Sub-Inspector Sukhdev Singh in plain clothes hiding drugs under a mattress, followed moments later by uniformed police conducting a raid and recovering the contraband from the same spot. Following the incident, the Senior Superintendent of Police suspended the accused officer, formed a Special Investigation Team chaired by a Superintendent of Police-rank officer to conduct a probe, and ordered the discharge of the framed leader.
