Lovely University News | LPU Erupts In Violence After Students Protest Over Alleged Sexual Assault
A protest at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Punjab over reports of an alleged sexual assault escalated into violence, vandalism and arson. Police were deployed on campus as a vehicle was reportedly set on fire and stones were pelted. The Jalandhar-Phagwara highway was also blocked during the unrest. LPU has called the allegations false and baseless, while an SIT has been formed to probe the alleged assault.
