Nestled in forests nearly 50 kilometres outside Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal, the famous rock shelters at Bhimbetka provide a peek into times, thousands of years ago. Scenes of dance, rituals and hunting games, etched beautifully on the stones depict lives in the pre-historic era. The massive caves are also the oldest among the 24 world heritage sites recognised by UNESCO in India.
