Manipur NRC Demand Intensifies: Meira Paibi Groups Hold Torch Rallies Across Valley
The demand for completing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before conducting the Census intensified in Manipur, with Meira Paibi groups and local organisations holding torch rallies at several locations across the Valley. Protesters raised slogans opposing the Census without prior NRC updation. The mobilisation follows a series of protests and shutdowns, including a two-day general strike, closure of educational institutions, office-locking drives by the Just Fair Delimitation (JFD), and student demonstrations across the Valley.
