Sushmita Dev: 'Rahul Gandhi Must Show 5 Ways He Has Broken Patriarchy'

BJP MP and former Mahila Congress chief Sushmita Dev has challenged Rahul Gandhi and the Congress to "walk the talk" on women's empowerment. Speaking to NDTV, Dev questioned whether the Congress has genuinely broken the glass ceiling within its own organisation and urged Rahul Gandhi to show five concrete examples of how he has empowered women at the grassroots.

Dev also spoke about her experience as Mahila Congress chief, alleged the lack of effective mechanisms to address harassment within political parties, and argued that women's empowerment must go beyond prominent female leaders to those at the grassroots. She also reflected on her earlier stand on Triple Talaq, saying ground-level feedback changed her perspective, and called for the Congress to reconsider its approach to the Uniform Civil Code and women's rights.
