As the dust settles down after the big censorship battle over the film, Udta Punjab, a ground report on injecting drug use from Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Injecting drug use has crept into cities and villages of Uttar Pradesh, but there is no comprehensive response by the state government.
In Punjab, the state government has created infrastructure, but has failed to connect with the needs of drug users. The government's rehabilitation centres in the districts are empty.
