As there is a scramble for anti-viral drug Remdesivir as Covid cases increase across the country and desperate relatives form long lines outside hospitals and chemists, the big question is also how effective is the drug? Last year, there had been some relief when it was first announced that Remdesivir helped bring down hospitalisation time. But later, a solidarity trial by the WHO declared it was found to be of little help in severe cases. However, the drug is approved in the US as well as in India for treatment. A recent US trial has once again claimed that the drug is effective.
