The dance bars of Mumbai are almost a part of its urban mythology. They are endlessly re-visited by film-makers, writers and of course, the media. But the hard, disturbing reality of the lives of the bar dancers came to the surface in March 2004 when the bars were raided again and again. NDTV visited some them right after the raids and the women spoke out with unusual candour and bitterness.
