In West Bengal, over a thousand adivasi men and women came together last week for commando training under a little-known political outfit -- the Jharkhand Disham Party. Their aim is to form a commando force that will fight, quite literally in this case, for adivasi rights. The Jharkhand Disham Party hopes that the move will address adivasi grievances such as the attack on one of their processions in Guwahati back in November 2007.
