Torrential rain triggered widespread flooding across Istanbul on Wednesday, sweeping away vehicles, inundating roads and damaging buildings across the city. Footage shows cars being carried by floodwaters, streets turned into fast-moving streams and vehicles struggling through deep water. The Istanbul Governor's Office suspended in-person classes at all public and private schools for Thursday and banned motorcycles and other two-wheeled vehicles from the roads until further notice. Some public-sector employees were also granted administrative leave. Residents were urged to stay home unless necessary and avoid tunnels, riverbeds and other flood-prone areas. Authorities recorded more than 1,200 flooding incidents across the city as emergency crews responded to thousands of calls
