Referring to Cuba, Trump said, “Cuba’s got problems,” and claimed that if a US aircraft carrier like the USS Abraham Lincoln stopped just offshore, Havana would quickly surrender. The remarks come as the Trump administration continues its months-long pressure campaign on Cuba, pushing for major reforms while repeatedly warning of possible military action. This was also Trump’s first major public event after the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner threat case.
