The truckers' strike has entered the seventh day on Sunday and the effect can be seen in the prices of commodities, particularly vegetables. Kolkata has seen a rise in the prices of onion, tomato and potato. Bangalore has been the worst hit with vegetable prices increasing sharply. Onion prices have almost doubled in the city and ginger and garlic are up by Rs 20 rupees.
