On Friday, the Haryana assembly witnessed Jain monk Tarun Sagar giving a sermons to all the MLAs in the house. He was seated naked on a dias, above the Governor, the Chief Minister and among the many subjects he talked about was a metaphor on dharma and politics where he spoke of a wife's duties and subservience to her husband. Almost all political parties found nothing wrong with asking a religious leader to give a sermons inside an assembly. AAP's Vishal Dadlani took a dig at the monk, but apologised when Arvind Kejriwal rebuked him and had to quit the party. He now faces an FIR. Tehseen Poonawala, a Congress supporter, has also come under attack for his tweets on the subject. Is this a case of free speech gone too far or should religious leaders be addressing legislatures at all?
