With a surge in COVID-19 cases in the last few days, Mumbai is back among the top five districts in the state based on active cases. Covid cases in Mumbai had stabilised between 200 and 300 in the first three weeks of August, making the city slip to the seventh rank. Mumbai reported 496 fresh cases — highest since 10 July (504) and over 400 cases for 5th day in row.
