Union Minister Narayan Rane was arrested Tuesday over his comment on slapping Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for what he called his "ignorance of the year India won Independence". He was granted bail hours later after he cited his health and argued that he was arrested without proper notice on "politically motivated" charges.
