Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal says she is glad that khichdi, the Indian comfort food, is trending, after the news of a mega World Record attempt this Saturday in which 800 kg of khichdi will be cooked. The record attempt will be part of 'World Food India', organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries in a bid to popularise and promote Indian cuisines internationally. Ms Badal says khichdi is made in every Indian household, cooked across India in different ways and fits into the global theme of wellness.
