In a historic judgement for a child sexual abuse victim, the Delhi High court increased interim compensation for Munna (name changed) from Rs. 50,000 to Rs 6,00,000. Munna was sexually abused by his own uncle and the act was caught on a CCTV camera. It was after Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) intervened in the case that Delhi High Court enhanced the interim compensation. This judgment is historic and has set a precedent and benchmark for awarding compensation in Protection of Children from Sexual Abuse (POCSO) cases, particularly male victims of sexual abuse.
