Thirteen eastern Uttar Pradesh seats go to the polls in the last phase of the national election on May 19. The high-profile seats are Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's Varanasi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's stronghold of Gorakhpur. Another seats that is interesting is Ballia, the state's easternmost Lok Sabha seat. The BJP won the seat for the first time in 2014, but has changed its candidate this time. The fight is two-cornered, with a candidate from the Uttar Pradesh alliance taking on the BJP in Ballia. Alok Pandey travelled on trains in the area and spoke to people at railway stations to get a sense of the mood of the public.
