CS Verma, chairman of SAIL, says the profits in the first quarter took a beating because of high coking coal prices. He expects the coking coal prices to stabilize because of the normalization of mining operations in Australia. SAIL reported a 29 per cent dip in Q1 FY'12 net profit at Rs 838 crore.
