The Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs on Thursday approved a hike in diesel price by Rs. 5 per litre at a meeting at the PM's residence in New Delhi. Kirit Parekh, Chairman, Integrated Research & Action for Development & Former Member Planning Commission told NDTV that he is pleased with this decision. "However, the government should have made the prices market-determined," he added.
