Peru Emergency | Peru Implements Additional Security Measures Under Ongoing State Of Emergency

Peru’s government has expanded its state of emergency in Lima and surrounding areas to combat rising crime. The new decree strengthens prison security, introduces digital surveillance, and forms a Unified Operational Command for coordinated action. Measures include restricting prison visits, enforcing “power blackouts” to curb illegal activities, and banning two adults from riding the same motorcycle. Authorities have also authorized identity checks, weapon seizures, and fast-track deportations of foreign offenders, as the country faces a surge in violent crime.
