CJP Protest Sparks Political Showdown As BJP, Congress, AAP And DMK Trade Charges

The detention of protesters ahead of the CJP's demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has triggered a political slugfest. BJP president Nitin Nabin accused Rahul Gandhi and the Opposition of misleading young people and attempting to destabilise the country. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor criticised the restrictions, saying a government confident in its electoral mandate should welcome questions rather than suppress dissent. AAP called the situation a "black emergency", while the CPI(M) and DMK also criticised the police action. Union Minister Chirag Paswan, meanwhile, backed the protesting youth, saying restrictions on transport and connectivity would not stop them.
