Opposition Slams Budget 2026 As 'Anti-Poor And Directionless'

Opposition parties have sharply criticised the Union Budget 2026-27, calling it lacklustre, opaque, and disconnected from India's economic realities. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the budget refuses course correction and ignores real crises facing the country. Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram also questioned the government over U.S. tariffs. Responding to the attacks, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said she is open to criticism and ready to debate the budget on facts.
