Gaurav Gogoi Speaks On No Confidence Motion Against Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla

Opposition members have moved a resolution to remove Om Birla as the Lok Sabha Speaker. While bringing the resolution against Birla, Congress' Mohammad Jawed said the speaker has "ceased to maintain an impartial attitude necessary to command the confidence of all sections of the House". Once the required number of members stood up, the notice was admitted, and Jawed read out the resolution, which was also admitted for discussion. Congress' Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi commenced the discussion, for which 10 hours have been allocated. The Opposition had filed a notice against the speaker in the first phase of the budget session, which was signed by 118 members.
