The Opposition is taking its 'vote chori' campaign to Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, intensifying its confrontation with the Election Commission after a mock impeachment move against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Led by Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, the rally is expected to see a major show of strength, with demands including the CEC's resignation, a halt to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), restoration of deleted voters and a return to paper ballots. The Opposition has also called for changes to the law governing the appointment of election commissioners, while Kharge has demanded a treason trial against the CEC. Delhi is under heavy security, with over 4,000 police personnel, central forces, CCTV cameras and drones deployed across 14 security zones.
